150th Anniversary: Activating Pasts, Practising Futures

Due to the current measures regarding Covid-19, we unfortunately have to postpone our exhibition 'Live from the Rijksakademie, a Cabinet of Curiosities' and the presentation of our Artist Edition until March 2021.

From Friday 27 to Sunday 29 November, the Rijksakademie will open its doors during the Amsterdam Art Gallery Weekend

We celebrate our 150st birthday with two special presentations: In Live from the Rijksakademie, a Cabinet of Curiosities, celebrating 150 years of artistic practice past and present some surprising pieces of our rich and eventful history will be shared with the public. The exhibition, curated by artists Hermann Pitz and Dina Danish, includes art works from the collection, archival material, and curious found objects that have been left behind or kept and cherished during 150 years of artistic practice. In addition, we present our very first Artist Edition in history. Thirteen works in a box, made by artists for artists, offered for sale in an exclusive edition of forty. The box represents artists from different generations and backgrounds like Carlos Amorales, Yael Bartana, Gareth Nyandoro and Helen Verhoeven.

Also, a special edition will be offered for sale by alumna Claudia Martínez Garay.
