Ceramics

In the ceramic workshop, residents can work autonomously to execute a design in ceramics or find out what the material could mean in their practice. The available expertise supports both pragmatic solutions and in-depth investigation, in various materials and sizes up to two metres high. Pieces can be finished with a wide range of glazes. The workshop also offers facilities and outside collaborations to experiment with glass.

Workshops

The technical workshops at the Rijksakademie have been a site of innovation and experimentation for decades. Led by specialists who work closely together with the residents, the workshops facilitate the exchange of expertise and create the possibility of interdisciplinary projects involving both new and traditional materials and techniques.

Material Library

The Material Library collects information about materials used in the technical workshops of the Rijksakademie. The aim is to create a resource that promotes sustainable use of these materials by our residents. We also like to share this information with others in the field.
