We are happy to host alum Felix Burger (RA 13/14) for a performance to highlight his recent publication Old Habits Die Hard
To attend, please RSVP. Admission is free.
Old Habits Die Hard incorporates the majority of Burger's artistic works between 2013 and 2020: space-consuming settings, stage-like arrangements and films. Accompanying this is a series of texts in the form of interviews focusing on his working methods, conceptual spheres of influence, and personal areas of conflict.
The cover of the book shows the artist as a 5-year-old boy and a hybrid of a tyrannosaurus and his family dog. These two characters play a central role in the performance as the tyrannosaurus will interview the young boy in the setting of a hand-puppet theatre. The conversation between the hand puppets re-enacts part of the interviews in the book between Felix Burger and Jaap Guldemond, Julia Liedel, Sophia Süssmilch, Andrea Kopranovic and Lion Bischof.
Around the set up Burger’s video works from the last 10 years are projected as a retrospective overview.
Programme:
17:00-17:30 walk in and film screenings
17:30-17:50 performance
17:50-18:20 film screenings and drinks
