Resident Eniwaye Oluwaseyi wins Royal Award for Modern Painting 2025

Resident Eniwaye Oluwaseyi was one of the three winners of the Royal Prize for Modern Painting.

Alums Frederique Jonker (RA 16/17) and Josse Pyl (RA 17/18), were amongst the 15 nominees for the Royal Award for Modern Painting 2025. All nominees were recognised for their innovative approaches to the medium, demonstrating the breadth and diversity of contemporary painting today. The prize was awarded by His Majesty King Willem-Alexander to Eniwaye and the other winners, Taqwa Ali en Lieve Hakkers.

Alum Mounira Al Solh (RA 07/08) served as member of this year’s jury.

The exhibition offers a unique glimpse into the future of Dutch painting—an exploration of themes ranging from the personal to the political, from the abstract to the figurative. The works of all nominees will be on view at the Royal Palace Amsterdam from 1 February to 30 March 2025.
