Upcoming calendar change

In 2025, the Rijksakademie building will undergo necessary roof maintenance and renovations, which will temporarily reduce the number of studios available. As a result, we will host fewer residents during this period, and some current residents will have the opportunity to extend their residency.

To accommodate these changes, we are reverting to our pre-2020 calendar. This means, as of 2026, the residency will begin in January. Therefore, the next call for applications will not open upcoming September 2025, but in January 2026. The deadline for applications will be 1 February 2026. Additionally, Open Studios will return to its original timing that year in November. We are pleased to announce that Amsterdam Art Weekend is joining us in this transition, and will also take place that November.
