Hot Mesh aka Cold in Church release event

On the occasion of the release of their sonic narrative EP project ‘Poseidon’ the artist-band Cold in Church presents a series of performances at the Rijksakademie. From indie psychedelics to drag, this “hot mesh” is neither band night, nor a performance soiré. The performance evening will be presented by Crystal d’Angleterre.

Please note that it is not possible to enter without pre-registration. The doors will be open from 17:30 until 18:15 hours. After that, it is not possible to enter.

Cold in Church is an Amsterdam and Rotterdam based band composed of artists Cécile Tafanelli, Jacob Dwyer, Charlott Weise, Faysal Mroueh, Giovanni Giaretta and current Rijksakademie resident Daniel Vorthuys. The evening marks the release of their EP ‘Poseidon’ on all streaming platforms. The EP is a mix of jazz, ballet, and pop opera with rock/pop coatings.

Landing from a fascination for drum patterns and ecstatic hypnotism, Snailaway is dedicated to bringing sweat and joy to the dance floor. Her psychedelic cross-overs are a contagious form of effervescent editing through storytelling and somatic trance. Since 2022 they are a resident at MONO Rotterdam.

London-based artist band Arthur Brick mixes indie psychedelics with situationist song-writing.

Crystal d’Angleterre is a drag performer from England joining us to present the evening.
