Hend Samir wins the Koninklijke Prijs voor Vrije Schilderkunst 2021

On July 14 King Willem-Alexander awarded the Royal Prize for Painting 2021 in the Royal Palace Amsterdam to resident Hend Samir, Rinella Alfonso and Philipp Gufler.

The accompanying exhibition with the works of the three winners and the nominated artists is on view at the Koninklijk Paleis Amsterdam until October 3.

This year the Royal Award for Modern Painting celebrates its 150th anniversary with a special exhibition. ‘Trailblazers’ shows the work of seventeen former winners of the Award, amongst others alumni Mattijs van Den Bosch, Suzan Drummen and Helen Verhoeven, and advisor Ansuya Blom.
