Gerard Hemsworth (1945–2021)

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of artist Gerard Hemsworth (1945–2021). His artistic practice was highly conceptual and involved a range of media, including painting and printmaking. 

Up till 2011 Gerard was professor of Fine Art and Director of the MFA Fine Arts Programme at Goldsmiths University of London, and he was an advisor at the Rijksakademie from 1990 till 1995.  

With his kindness and critical guidance he had a significant impact on a generation of artists.
